Hulton Workplace Resolutions

Joy Hulton (Hulton Workplace Resolutions) is a qualified workplace mediator, arbitrator, and conflict resolution facilitator. She also advises on respectful workplace policies and conducts workplace assessments and investigations. Joy began her career in employment and labour law with Osler LLP in 1991 representing public and private sectors employers in a wide range of employment and labour law matters.

She joined The Regional Municipality of York in 1997 as Director, Employment & Labour Law and served as Regional Solicitor from 2004-2019. Joy was a founding member of the Emergency Services Steering Committee. Joy served as a Special Advisor to the Ontario Provincial Police from 2021-2022 advising on the Respect in the Workplace policy and program.

Joy holds a B.A and LL.B. from Queen’s University, a Master Certificate in Municipal Management from York University, Schulich School of Business, and a Certificate in Conflict Management from the Canadian Collaborative for Engagement and Conflict Management (CECM). Joy also holds designations of Qualified Arbitrator and Mediator from the ADR Institute of Canada. Joy is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario and the Ontario Bar Association, and a member of the Workplace Investigator Network (WIN) roster.
